Thoughts

Beyond the horizon, of a place we used to live when we were young, in a world full of love and miracles. Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary, I can hear us calling ourselves. Along the long road, a tunnel of light shines, will we meet on the other side?

Looking beyond the buildings, glowing with light behind us, have a glimpse of how green it is on the other side. As we thought we have taken many steps forward, but actually we are sleepwalking back again. Our lives are consumed by slow decay. Encumbered forever by anxieties, fear, anger, hatred, desire, greed and ambitions, there's a hunger still left unsatisfied. Our weary eyes still stray towards the horizon, as though down this road we've been there so many times.

If one think hate about someone, for whatever reasons, he/she will be responsible for both himself and accountable for the entire humanity. This sounds like exaggeration, but everything affects everything else at some point in time. A thought is said to be an energy. We are all is interconnected with one another in a grandscale, we are part of the entire universe. (imagine the atomic structure) .We might be just a little particle in an atom or electron, etc on the whole. Every bad thought aimed at another, no matter what they have done, or how they deserved it, are all tests to learn and grow from. Ugly thoughts are making people ugly. If you think sex as being a sin or a bad thing, then you are creating another sexual perversion to satisfy all the more.

Remember, thought is a creation through time. Learn to love. Think give and not get, think love and not hate.

** Heard the news about NATO bombing and stuff. And the latest "mis-bombing" of the Chinese Embassy. And the people in China and other countries are protesting against US. Looking at their slogans, it reads (in Chinese) , " Slaughter" , "Beat USA", "Fuck USA","Against tyranny", "An eye for an eye", etc. which advocates violence and revenge. I wonder when is this gonna end? Some one million people protested. I really admire their patriotic minds, but I hope there will not be anymore bloodsheds. What will the hatred thoughts in the people generate? ** See Mr Hyde's page for some flaming.

The Prison of Life (Apr 99)

Everyone thinks that they are a cage trying to catch the bird of fortune, fame, status, wealth, power, etc. In reality, everyone is a bird looking for a cage to lock himself up. The bird flies and into the cage of fortune, fame, status, power, etc. What is loss is mistakenly considered gain; the hunted still thinks of himself as the hunter. People spend their whole life pursuing everythin'. Indeed, their spirits are long buried alive by everythin'. How can it be that layers of prison are what we pursue in life? Points to ponder.............

PHENOMENON (May 99)

There had been an interesting phenomenon going on. I've interacted with many of my guy friends and business associates and we have one common sentiment : "Most Singapore girls are materialistic and realistic. tsk tsk". Why do they have such sentiments? Of course based on their rejection patterns that can justify the cause - A better (more financially powerful) guy came into the picture.

A more interesting reply from the creatures from Venus : "oh well, those guys who say that are poor little inferior freaks and useless bums who can't meet our requirements to afford us."  That sure was a hell of an answer.

I guess the 5C's had flooded the Singapore minds. It's something we look forward to, no doubt, but should one guage the so called requirements of a man using these criterias? Well, in any case, it's their freedom to select a man with the 5C's qualities but I feel that it's totally meaningless and empty when one build a relationship based on that. It's pretty pathetic too.

A recent chit chat with a group of friends. He was dictating an experience with his female friend. The girl asked him "Hey, there was this guy who promised to gimme $50 K and another who promised my school fees to overseas, who should I choose?"

HAHAHA.....I was pretty amazed and at the same time amused. I dun believe such things can happen!!!

I had talked to some of my rich friends and their mentality are : " Those girls who stick with me are like prostitutes." "I'm only interested in what's between her legs". Very bad....look what money can do to one's morality....or do they have any? There are some rich friends who dun want people to know they are rich. They found true love. 

I'm anticipating defense against this phenomenon, but I rest my case. Probably Me and my friends suffered the same fate. Should we still resign to our fate? Or work hard fer the 5C's?

One girl told me I'm a loser after saying this. hehehe......

AIRSOFT SKIRMISH (Jun 99)

Recently, I came up with an idea of setting up an Airsoft skirmish field. It's a sport played in wargame format where players carries replica firearms that shoots 6mm BB pellets to accomplish an objective. The velocity of these guns will not kill but will still injure in point blank range though. It's very popular all around the world like Japan, Hong Kong, Canada , US, UK, Thailand, Phillipines, etc.  EXCEPT Singapore.

I figured that this is a totally new idea in Singapore and I believed that it has a market for it. Paintball gun sports used to be banned too but it's already operating now. Paintball guns functions similarly to Airsoft guns; only difference is paintball guns shoots paint bullets, which is more painful than BB bullets (paint bullets are much much larger than BB bullets).The only barrier is on the A&E side. We gotta depend on them to lift the ban of airsoft in order for this business to proceed. 

Me and Some of my friends had wrote  letters to A&E asking for permission to lift the ban or even issuing license for owning airsoft guns. But to our disappointment they gave a red light due to "security reasons" . Their replies were so ambiguous and it only implies that they are not helping us. Instead of thinking of solutions to help us own airsoft guns, they just reject our applications. I figured that they do not want additional work and effort.

Later, I wrote another mail to A&E suggesting the fact of economic boom and the revenue it can generate. This time they ask me to submit a proposal to start an airsoft field. Haaaaa! What realistc government.

Anyone can foresee what if any individual owns an airsoft gun. There could be abuse like robberies or intentionally hurting another human being/animals. But does it justify the ban of airsoft guns forever? I dun think so. I think that banning these toys only implies the distrust in fellow citizens of Singapore. But no doubt, the government dun trust us!!!! hahaaaaa..

ARGUMENT 1 : If people just put the blame on someone just because something happen, then they are irresponsible for their own actions. If a one uses airsoft to intentionally harm people or rob the bank, he is responsible for the consequences of being jailed, fined or even to the worst case shot to death. His family or closed one should not blame it on the manufacturers or retailers of airsoft.

ARGUMENT 2 : Accidents and misuse are bound to happen. We will do our part to ensure minimum abuse of airsoft and if the authorities think otherwise, it only imply that the government do not trust their own citizens into handling such equipment. They are concentrating of only how the equipment is being abused rather than a tool for sports and enjoyment. They will be depraving of airsoft enthusiast from owning airsoft.

ARGUMENT 3 : Almost all things are potential to criminal activities. Eg. The internet, there are hackers all around. Does it mean internet connection should be banned? There are lotsa XXX sites around but SBA cannot stop all people from visiting those sites.(issit really a crime?)  AIDS is a incurable disease and it can also harm one's family. Prostituition is still legalised, with control of course. The authorities have done their part in preventing spreading of diseases but it's still not fullproof. Same applies to Airsoft.

I have my own arguments though....but whether the authorities will buy or not is another issue, thus keeping my fingers crossed all times. Suggesting this ideas to my friends and families sure invites different responses. Some people supported my ideas and encourages me and hope I succeed. I'm grateful to all these people. There are people who gives negative remarks and feeling skeptical . I dun blame them if that's their sentiments. We are over protected by our governement all this while that new ventures are often frowned upon (improving recently), not to say something to do with firearms. Remember CEO of Creative Technonlogy ,Mr Sim Wong Hoo? His ideas of multimedia computers in the 80's were being mocked at almost everyone in Singapore. See how he succeeded after he went to US and came out with Sound Blaster? Just an example.

I suggest we minimise the use of senstive/negative words like firearms, guns,  bullets. Try using err... "equipement that ejects 6 mm projectile". haaaaaa.....

I rest my case..........

WHO'S RIGHT? WHO"S WRONG? (JUN 99)

While talking to my dad, I was comparing the difference between Singapore and other countries. I was saying that some people like to play with cars as hobby (dressing up with accessories and modifying the engine to boost power) but they are not given the benefits here in Singapore. My dad argued ," Those idiots who run across with load engines really pissed me off. They are inconsiderate and will disturb the peace of others . How would ya feel if those guys wake up yr baby sleeping soundly?"

That brings up a question, who's right and who's wrong? One hand those car players wanna enjoy their hobbies (whether they are considerate or not is another issue), on the other hand, people see them as inconsiderate noise polluter.

Ideally, a mutual understanding is the best....points to ponder....will never reach a conclusion.

DUH! (AUG 99)

Recently, I was invited to an organisation to attend their so called "morning session". This organisation is one of the pioneers in network marketing and is very successful in this area.The main marketed products are hi-tec-state-of-art health products.  The session basically is held every morning for all staff to share their experiences and upper management staff and the MD to train the employees with lectures. Additionally, there are also few people like me that was invited as guests to check out the session.

I was welcomed by the sales manager and was introduced with the products. The sales manager told me that their objectives of marketing the product is to promote health and awareness of health. Their mission is not only market the product, but as well as spread their fortune of health with the public.

Back at the morning session held in a air-con conference room, I was seated just at the front with a small "stage" where the MD was seated. One thing that annoyed me is that he was smoking away, and boy he's a real heavy smoker. Stick by stick he never stopped. I was affected by his smoke and boy was I pissed off....

No doubt that was a very interesting organisation and culture, is the organisation's philosophy relative to the MD's inconsiderate behaviour? promote health?? I give a big "FUCK YOU" to him! I was actually quite impressed with the organisation at first, but I guess I gotta waste that impression.
